Frequently Asked Questions

  • How far in advance should I schedule a cake tasting?
We recommend scheduling your tasting about six months before your wedding. Popular weekends book quickly, so earlier is always better when possible.

What days and times are cake tastings available?
Tastings are offered by appointment. We do our best to accommodate evenings and weekends, though availability is more limited during peak wedding season (May–October).

    Are tastings by appointment only?
Yes. All tastings require an appointment so we can prepare fresh samples and give you our full attention.

What should I expect during a cake tasting and consultation?
You’ll sample a selection of our cake and filling flavors and discuss your wedding style, guest count, and design vision with us.

What should I bring to my tasting for design inspiration?
Anything that reflects your wedding aesthetic—such as invitations, floral ideas, color palettes, or attire—is helpful.

Will I receive a proposal after the tasting?
Yes. After your consultation, we’ll email a proposal outlining your flavor selections and design details.

  • How far in advance should I place my wedding cake order?
We recommend confirming your order at least three months in advance. Availability varies by weekend, so it’s always worth reaching out even if your event is sooner.

How many wedding cakes do you accept per weekend?
We take a limited number of orders each weekend to ensure every cake receives the time and care it deserves.

Do you accept last-minute wedding cake orders?
Occasionally, yes—depending on availability. Please contact us to check your date.

How can I check if my wedding date is available?
You can reach out by phone or email, and we’ll be happy to confirm availability.

  • Is a deposit required to secure my wedding date?
Yes. A deposit is required to reserve your date on our calendar.

When is the final balance due?
Final payment is due two weeks before your wedding.

    What is your cancellation policy?
If an order is canceled within two months of the event date, the deposit is not refundable.

  • Do you deliver wedding cakes?
Yes. We strongly recommend professional delivery to ensure your cake arrives safely and is properly set up.

    What is the delivery fee?
Delivery within 10 miles of our Oak Park bakery is $55 plus $2.50/mile after 10 miles.  Venues with lengthy security and loading procedures may incur a higher delivery fee.  Sweets table setups will also have an additional fee.

What areas do you deliver to?
We deliver throughout the Greater Chicagoland area, Northwestern Indiana, Southern Wisconsin, and Southwestern Michigan.

    How is delivery timing determined?
We coordinate directly with your caterer or wedding planner to determine the best delivery time.

Do you assist with on-site setup?
Yes. We handle cake placement and can address any minor adjustments needed upon arrival.

  • How are wedding cake servings sized?
Wedding cakes are cut banquet-style, with servings approximately 1” wide × 2” long × 3–5” tall, depending on design.

Can my cake be displayed outdoors?
Yes, but we do not recommend direct sunlight or temperatures above 75°F.

Are you responsible for the cake after setup at an outdoor venue?
No. Outdoor conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, insects, or uneven ground are beyond our control once the cake is set.

  • Do you offer dessert tables or additional sweets?
Yes. We offer a variety of options to complement your wedding cake.

What types of mini or custom pastries do you offer?
We make custom cupcakes, mini cupcakes, decorated cookies, and French macarons, which are especially popular as favors or sweets table additions.

Can you accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?
We can often exclude specific allergens from recipes, but we cannot guarantee against cross-contamination due to shared equipment. Our kitchen regularly uses dairy, eggs, gluten, tree nuts, and corn. While we do not use peanuts directly, some ingredients may come from facilities that handle them.
