Before she opened Sugar Fixé, Cindy Summers, an Oak Park resident and pastry enthusiast, traveled abroad to find high quality, made-from-scratch pastries. Her passion for hand-crafted pastries led her to leave her successful corporate career and enroll in the French Pastry School in Chicago.
She started achieving her dream of bringing heavenly European-style desserts to her fellow Oak Park residents in 2011, using only the very best ingredients and classic techniques she learned while studying under renowned chefs such as Jacquy Pfeiffer, Della Gossett, Pastry World Champion Dimitri Fayard and Master Baker Jonathan Dendauw.
You will find menu mainstays like hand-made croissants and French macarons along with surprising specials like savory brioche and our take on the American ho-ho. Cindy and team love to have their flavors follow the seasons and use local fruits and vegetables whenever possible.
